At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, 34 year-old man was walking alongside or crossing the roadway near the intersection of Foothill Blvd and Fairfax Avenue in Oakland when he was struck by an auto, which then fled the scene.
The pedestrian died from his injuries. Police are attempting to identify the driver.
