A recent car crash has claimed the life of 82 year old Don Geddes, who lived in Sonoma for 50 years and taught art at Sonoma Valley High School for 29 years. He died in an accident that occurred when he was driving and tried to turn from Burndale Road onto Napa Road when he was sideswiped by another vehicle. Both automobiles veered off the road to the edge of a vineyard. Geddes’ white 1990 Toyota Corolla was going northbound into oncoming traffic when he was struck by the 2006 Volvo XC90 SUV driven by Ronald Brown, 39 years old, from San Francisco. Brown was headed eastbound at 55 mph. The turn is sharp and partially obscured by eucalyptus trees, and cars usually speed between the posted-50 mph and 60 mph limits. Police officers did not think the driver of the Volvo had any fault in the accident. He and his passengers were uninjured. See: Full article.
